Climate FieldView™—their flagship product—is the world’s leading digital farming software platform, available in 23 countries and on over 220 million acres. FieldView blends unrivaled machine compatibility, data analysis and visualization tools, and connectivity across dozens of trusted farm management partners to enable insights for more informed decisions on the field.


My Role: 

As the UX Lead for the Field View Insight Team, I facilitated design and strategy for both large and small-scale grow operations providing generative and evaluative insights driven by qualitative research and machine learning (AI) to best optimize grow operations, including: seed performance (a/b test), agronomic pressures (disease, pest, and weather), reduction of spray, and machine telemetry, all aimed at optimizing yield while minimizing environmental impact.

Design Strategy

The design strategy for Climate FieldView™ aimed to empowering farmers to make informed decisions for improved productivity and sustainability. The strategy prioritizes seamless integration with diverse farm management systems and devices, ensuring smooth data flow across platforms for enhanced usability in both field and office environments.

Challenges and Objective:

Designing Climate FieldView™ involves simplifying complex agricultural data while integrating with various machinery, such as tractors and combines. Ensuring data integrity across diverse systems and maintaining real-time accuracy is a key challenge. The platform must balance intuitive interfaces with advanced analytics and sustainability features, while scaling for global markets and adapting to emerging technologies.

Yield Analysis provided robust tools that aggregated data across multiple sources from machine learning (deer to case), geo spatial layers (satellites) High-resolution imagery (drones), agronomic data (soil, weather, seed type, spray, geography), telemetry, sensors, & genetics (by bayer) to best predict the right (1) seed type, (2) reduce environmental impact, while (3) increasing yield.

Research studies across NAFTA (United States & Canada) identified new business opportunities with seven figure plus revenue stream that expanded beyond our core competency of Data Insights to logistics and gig economies leading to additional revenue and financial and platform opportunities.

Reduced environmental impacts by providing real time data for areas experiencing stress thus making more informed decisions around spot, aerial, or blanket ground spraying practices were blanket (aerial or ground) vs targeted was traditionally preferred reducing run off and helping keep our rivers and lakes cleaner.


Yield Analysis allowed for key decisions around land stewardship so one can determine if it is better to (1) plant or (2) invest in energy producing opportunities like windmills.
